More than a block puzzle

A familiar mechanic. A ladder you can actually win.

Blockmatic starts from a proven line-clear mechanic, then builds Ascent on top of it — a weekly ladder where bombs, gems, and frost turn every clear into something more than points. Wrapped in an original Aurora Glass look.

Ascent — the ladder you can win
A weekly ladder of hand-built levels that keeps escalating. Clear a level to rise; slip up and you retry the same one, so progress always sticks. A new set lands every Monday, and the climb never caps out — the one mode you can actually win.
Bombs, gems & frost
Every Ascent level changes what "clear a line" means. Defuse a Bomb's ticking fuse before it goes off. Collect every Gem by clearing its line. Clear through Frost and watch it crack free after a few more clears.
Aurora Glass, an original look
A deep-twilight world with a softly drifting aurora, frosted-glass panels, and glossy candy blocks — a look built specifically for Blockmatic, not a reskin of a generic template.
Endless & Time Attack
Not in the mood for a ladder? Endless runs at your own pace until the board jams — no timer, no pressure. Time Attack is a fast-paced sprint against the clock with its own best score.
Combos and celebrations
Clear lines on back-to-back placements and a Combo ×N streak keeps climbing. Multi-line clears pop right on the board, an emptied grid earns a "Perfect!", and beating your best mid-run lights up "New record!".
Three difficulties
Easy hands you small, easy-to-place pieces for a relaxed session. Normal is the balanced default. Hard deals bigger, more awkward pieces — and pays out a 1.5x score bonus for the extra risk.
Drag-to-place, line-clear scoring
Drag a piece from the tray onto the board; a live backlight shows which rows and columns will clear the instant you let go. Fill a full row or column — including both at once — and it clears for points.
Respectful ads — with an optional rescue
A banner and the occasional interstitial keep the free tier running, deliberately paced to stay out of the way. Jam an Endless run and you can choose to watch a short ad for a fresh rescue hand — never forced, once per game.
One-time purchase removes ads
A single "Remove Ads" purchase — no subscription, ever — clears every ad for good. Restorable on any device via your Apple App Store or Google Play account.
Fully offline, no accounts
No sign-in, no cloud sync, no server your gameplay touches. The board, scoring, and your best score all live on your device.

How to play

One rule. Ascent changes what it means.

Block placement with row/column line-clearing — a proven, low-friction mechanic that Ascent's Bombs, Gems, and Frost bend into something new.

  1. Step 01

Drag a piece onto the board

Every turn deals a fresh tray of block pieces. Drag one onto the 8×8 grid — a live backlight shows exactly which cells it will fill and which lines it will complete.

  2. Step 02

Fill a row or column to clear it

Complete any row or column and it clears instantly, scoring points for every cell placed plus a bonus for the line. Clear a row and a column at once for a bigger bonus.

  3. Step 03

    Keep going until nothing fits

The game ends the moment none of the tray's pieces fit anywhere on the board. See your score, beat your best, and start a new game immediately.

  4. Step 04

    In Ascent, clearing means more

Same rule, higher stakes: clear a line to defuse a Bomb, collect a Gem, or crack Frost. Reach a level's goal to win it and climb — the ladder resets every Monday.

FAQ

Common questions.

What is Ascent?
Ascent is Blockmatic's weekly ladder — a set of hand-built levels that keeps escalating. Clear a level to rise; slip up and you retry that same level, so your progress never resets. A new ladder lands every Monday, and it's the one mode you can actually win.
What are Bombs, Gems, and Frost?
They're Ascent's cell modifiers — special cells that change what clearing a line does. A Bomb has a ticking fuse you defuse by clearing its line. A Gem is collected by clearing its line, and gathering every gem wins the level. Frost survives a clear and cracks free after a few more.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-in, no profile, and no cloud sync. Your best score, difficulty, and Ascent progress are stored locally on your device and are lost only if you uninstall.
Is there an in-app currency or coin economy?
No. Blockmatic has no coins, no purchasable extras, and no consumables. The only purchase is a single one-time "Remove Ads" unlock.
What do I get with Remove Ads?
A single one-time, non-consumable purchase — no subscription — that removes every ad, permanently. Everything else about the game stays exactly the same.
Does the game work without an internet connection?
Yes. All gameplay — dealing pieces, placement, line-clearing, scoring, and Ascent — runs fully offline. Only the ad network, the purchase verifier (RevenueCat), and the crash reporter (Firebase) need a network connection, and none of them block play if you're offline.
Is Blockmatic available on tablets?
Yes. Blockmatic is designed to feel just as good on a phone as on a bigger tablet or iPad screen.
