These terms govern your use of the Hungarian Cultural Exam Trainer mobile app and the Hungarian Cultural Exam Trainer website (the "Service"), provided by TLM Software Design, Inc., a Michigan corporation with offices at 27280 Haggerty Road, Ste C-6, Farmington Hills, MI 48331, USA ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms.
Not an official app
Hungarian Cultural Exam Trainer is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Hungarian government, the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing, or any other state institution, and it does not provide legal or immigration advice. Passing the actual Hungarian Cultural Knowledge Exam is determined solely by the relevant Hungarian authorities; we make no guarantee about your result on the official exam.
Who can use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/UK) to use the app.
What the Service is
Hungarian Cultural Exam Trainer is a free, ad-supported study guide and practice-exam app for iOS and Android, covering the six official topics of Hungary's Cultural Knowledge Exam. It offers an Easy (single-choice) and a Hard (typed, self-reviewed) exam mode, and works fully offline once installed — all learning content and the question bank are bundled with the app. The app displays advertising provided by Google AdMob on the free tier and offers a single one-time non-consumable in-app purchase, "Premium," managed by RevenueCat.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app beyond what applicable law permits.
- Use automated tools to interact with the app or to manipulate ad impressions.
- Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or the terms of the App Store or Google Play.
Advertising
The free tier is supported by advertising served by Google AdMob (a banner and an occasional interstitial). Ad content is determined by AdMob and is subject to Google's advertising policies. We do not control which specific ads are shown. See our Privacy policy for how AdMob handles data.
In-app purchase — Premium
"Premium" is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that permanently removes the 5-exam daily attempt limit and all ads on the purchasing account. Payment is processed entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms; purchases are subject to each store's own refund policy. Purchase verification is handled by RevenueCat — see our Privacy policy for what data that involves.
Content sourcing and intellectual property
The app's learning content is original writing, authored from the facts published in the official, publicly available Hungarian Cultural Knowledge Exam study aid — it is not a verbatim reproduction of that or any other government material. The exam question bank combines a set of community-crowdsourced questions with additional originally-authored questions. The app, its original artwork, and the code that runs it are owned by TLM Software Design, Inc. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app for personal, non-commercial study purposes.
The app is provided as a study aid only. It does not guarantee the completeness or continued accuracy of the official exam syllabus, and passing the app's practice exams is not a guarantee of passing the real Hungarian Cultural Knowledge Exam.
No warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, that its study content fully tracks any future change to the official exam syllabus, that your progress will be preserved across all device conditions, or that ad content will be appropriate for all audiences.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TLM SOFTWARE DESIGN, INC. WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING ANY OUTCOME OF THE OFFICIAL HUNGARIAN CULTURAL KNOWLEDGE EXAM. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR ANY IN-APP PURCHASE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD $5, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Changes to the app or these terms
We may update the app or these terms at any time. Material changes to the terms will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Oakland County, Michigan.
