Terms of service
Last updated 2026-08-17
These terms govern your use of the Watch Home Remote watch app, its phone companion app, and the watch-home-remote website (the "Service"), provided by TLM Software Design, Inc., a Michigan corporation with offices at 27280 Haggerty Road, Ste C-6, Farmington Hills, MI 48331, USA ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service you agree to these terms.
Who can use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/UK) to use the Service. You are responsible for the Matter-compatible devices you connect and for keeping your phone and watch software up to date.
What the Service does
Watch Home Remote lets you control Matter-compatible lights, switches, and outlets from a supported Garmin watch, via a phone companion app that runs its own Matter controller over your local network. Devices may remain paired to other smart-home systems (such as Apple Home) at the same time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to control devices you do not own or do not have permission to control.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass the app's licensing or entitlement checks.
- Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or interfere with the Matter network of others.
Trial and one-time purchase
Watch control is available for a 7-day free trial. After the trial, continued watch control requires a one-time purchase of $4.99 (subject to your local currency and store pricing) through the App Store or Google Play. This is not a subscription — it does not auto-renew or recur. The phone app itself remains fully usable for free indefinitely, whether or not you purchase the watch unlock. The watch app is free to install; the purchase is made inside the phone companion app.
We may change the trial length or the unlock price for future purchases. An unlock you have already purchased is honoured at no additional cost.
Refunds
In-app purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests are handled directly by them under their respective policies.

Your data
Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy policy. Key point: device control is LAN-only and does not pass through a cloud relay.
Compatibility and third-party devices
The Service depends on the Matter standard and on your Garmin watch, phone, and home network functioning correctly. We do not manufacture or control your smart-home devices, your Thread border router, or your network, and we are not responsible for their failures, firmware changes, or incompatibilities.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT DEVICE CONTROL WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, OR ERROR-FREE — SMART-HOME CONTROL DEPENDS ON FACTORS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL, INCLUDING YOUR NETWORK AND DEVICE FIRMWARE.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL TLM SOFTWARE DESIGN, INC. BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY, OR (B) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.
Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time by removing your devices and deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or if we are required to by law.
Changes to these terms
We will post material changes here and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oakland County, Michigan, and you consent to that jurisdiction. Nothing in this section waives any consumer-protection right that the law of your country of residence grants you and that cannot be waived by contract.
