Habitile is a habit tracker for iOS and Android, operated by TLM Software Design, Inc. (Michigan, USA). This policy explains what the app and this website handle, why, and what choices you have. We have kept it short on purpose.
The short version
- Your habits, check-ins, reminders and settings are stored on your device. We never receive them.
- There is no account and no sign-in. Tracking works offline.
- The app contains no analytics and no crash-reporting software.
- What does leave the device is a Premium status check with RevenueCat each time the app opens, ad requests in the free version, and an email if you choose to write to us.
- This website uses Google Analytics only after you accept the cookie banner.
What stays on your device
- Habits and history. Habit names, check-ins, targets, reminder times and your settings live in the app’s private storage on your phone. There is no Habitile server that receives them and no cloud sync. The habit database is left out of iCloud, computer and Google device backups. Basic app settings, such as your language and theme, may be included in your phone’s own backup, which Apple or Google keeps for you and we never receive.
- Reminders. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device. The app asks for notification permission when you add your first reminder, and nothing is sent to us to deliver them.
- Voice input. When you tap Say a habit, the app uses your device’s on-device speech recognizer. The audio and the transcript stay on the device and are not stored by us. The microphone (and, on iPhone, speech recognition) permission is asked the first time you tap the button, never at launch. Where a device cannot recognize speech on the device in your language, the button is not shown, and there is no cloud fallback.
- Backups. Export creates a file of your habits, history and settings that you save wherever you choose, for example your own cloud storage. We never receive it, and the app reads it again only when you restore it yourself.
What leaves your device
Premium status and purchases
Each time the app opens, it asks RevenueCat, our purchase-management provider, whether Premium is active, so that it knows whether to show ads and the Premium themes. This happens for every user, including those who never buy anything. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID created on the device, basic device and app information (platform, operating-system and app version, store country) and your IP address.
If you buy Habitile Premium (a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase) or restore a purchase, the payment is handled by Apple or Google, and RevenueCat also receives your purchase history (the store receipts) so it can confirm that Premium is active and restore it on a new device. RevenueCat never receives habit content. We and RevenueCat never see your payment details.
Ads in the free version
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob: a banner on the History screen and, rarely, a full-screen ad after a milestone. Premium removes them, and for a Premium user the app does not ask for ad consent and does not start the ad software.
- Consent first. Before the first ad, the app asks Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) whether consent is needed where you are. In the EEA and the UK, you are asked through Google’s consent form, and no ad is requested until that is settled. The consent platform receives your IP address, from which Google derives your region, and basic usage and diagnostic data, and your choice is stored on the device. You can change it any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices, where your region provides for it.
- What AdMob receives when it serves an ad: your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information, advertising-related data, interactions with the ad and diagnostic data, as described in Google’s policies. Every ad request asks for non-personalized ads, so AdMob does not choose them from a profile of your past activity. It may still use the information above for contextual ads, frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention.
- No tracking prompt, no advertising ID request. On Android the app does not request your advertising ID. On iPhone it never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
AdMob and the consent platform are governed by Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy and by How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Rate this app and Write to us
Settings → Rate this app asks whether you would like to rate Habitile or write to us, and nothing happens until you choose. Rating uses the App Store’s or Google Play’s own review screen, governed by Apple’s or Google’s privacy policy. Write to us opens an email to info@swtlm.com in your mail app, with the app’s version and build number filled in. You can edit or delete the message before sending it. If you send it, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it only to answer you.
What we do not collect
- The names of your habits, your check-ins or your streaks
- Your name, email address or any contact information (the app has no sign-in), unless you email us yourself
- Audio, or the words you say when you add a habit
- Your contacts, calendar, photos or precise location
- Usage statistics or crash reports. The app has no analytics or crash-reporting software
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Premium status check: our legitimate interest in providing the app as intended, which needs to know whether to show ads and the Premium themes.
- Purchases: performing the contract you enter when you buy Premium.
- Ads: your consent where the law requires it, collected through Google’s consent form, which you can change in Settings at any time.
- Feedback emails: our legitimate interest in answering you when you write to us.
- This website’s analytics: your consent, given through the cookie banner.
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. They do so under the safeguards their own terms describe, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your choices and data deletion
There is no account, and we keep no profile about you on any server of our own, so there is nothing for us to delete in the app.
- Settings → Delete local data removes your habits, history, reminders and settings from the device.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on the device. A backup file you exported stays where you saved it until you delete it, and app settings in a phone backup stay until that backup is deleted.
- Buying Premium removes the ads and stops the ad software from running.
- Settings → Ad privacy choices reopens the consent form where your region provides for it.
- If you live in the EU, UK, California or another region with comparable privacy laws, you can ask about the purchase record held for you, or exercise any other data right (access, correction, deletion, objection), by emailing privacy@swtlm.com. We reply within 30 days.
Children
Habitile is a general-audience app. It is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EU and the UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has used the app and we hold something we should not, contact us and we will delete it.
This website
Everything above is about the app. This page is part of apps.swtlm.com, and that website uses
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to count visits: pages viewed, session count and referral source.
Analytics are activated only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. If you click
“Decline”, no analytics script is loaded and no cookies are set. When analytics are active, GA4 may set
cookies named _ga and _ga_* in your browser. No marketing cookies, ad cookies or tracking
pixels are used on this site.
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s local storage in your browser (key:
ga_consent) and refreshing the page.
apps.swtlm.com is one website: this page and every app page on it share a single analytics property and a single consent choice, so accepting or declining once applies everywhere on the domain. That is the analytics only. This privacy policy covers Habitile and its pages, and nothing else; every other app on apps.swtlm.com has its own policy, because every app handles different data. The pages are hosted on Amazon Web Services (S3 and CloudFront), which keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page).
