How to play
One rule, learned in a single swipe
-
Swipe
Every tile slides as far as it can in the direction you swipe.
-
Merge
Two equal tiles that meet join into one worth double. Each tile merges once per move.
-
Spawn
After every move that changes the board, a new 2 or 4 appears in an empty cell.
-
Reach 2048
Make the 2048 tile to win, then keep going for a bigger score if you like. The game ends when no move is left.
Features
Made to feel good on the hundredth game
-
A daily challenge
The same 4×4 board for every player, every day. Your best attempt is kept, and your last week of daily runs sits on the trophy shelf.
-
A swipe mid-slide still counts
Swipe again while tiles are still moving and the move is held until the board settles, instead of being lost. Merges tap back harder as the tiles grow.
-
Four board sizes
3×3 Speed for a quick round, 4×4 Classic, and 5×5 Big and 6×6 XL for long games. Each size keeps its own game while the app is open, so you can switch and pick up where you left off.
-
A summary of how you play
After each game: your moves, how tidy you kept the board, how often you held a corner, and a play style (Anchor, Sweeper, Tightrope or Freestyle). It describes your habits and never ranks you.
-
A trophy shelf
Your best tile on every board size, a timeline of personal bests, recent daily runs and fourteen achievements, each readable before you earn it.
-
Original sound and music
Soft move and merge sounds and a calm music loop, all composed for this game. Sound and music switch off separately, and the game never stops your own music.
-
Four themes
Light and Dark come free. Neon and Forest are part of Premium.
-
Nine languages
English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Russian, Japanese and Chinese, switchable inside the app.
Privacy

FAQ
Questions
Is Merge 2048 free?
Yes. The 4×4 Classic board, the daily challenge, the trophy shelf and the Light and Dark themes are free for good. Premium is an optional one-time purchase; there is no subscription.
When do ads appear?
Only between games, starting from your second game; no ad ever interrupts a game. The one other ad is the one you ask for: after your free undo, you can choose to watch a short ad for one more. Premium removes all of them.
What does Premium unlock?
No ads, the 3×3, 5×5 and 6×6 boards, the Neon and Forest themes, and unlimited undo. It is paid once and tied to your App Store or Google Play account, so it can be restored on a new device signed in to the same account.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. The whole game, including the daily challenge, runs offline. A connection is only used to load ads, to buy or restore Premium, and to send crash reports and basic usage analytics.
How does the daily challenge work?
Every day, every player starts from the same 4×4 board, generated from the date, so no server is involved. Play it as often as you like; your best score for the day is kept, and your last week of daily runs shows on the trophy shelf.
What is the play style in the summary?
A description of your habits in that game, such as keeping your biggest tile in a corner or sweeping the board in one direction. It is not a skill rating or a measure of intelligence, and it never ranks you against anyone.
Does it work on iPad and Android tablets?
Yes. The board scales to the screen on phones and tablets alike.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-in and no profile. Your scores and settings live on your device.
