These terms govern your use of the Creaky Hinge iPhone app and the Creaky Hinge website (the "Service"), provided by TLM Software Design, Inc., a Michigan corporation with offices at 27280 Haggerty Road, Ste C-6, Farmington Hills, MI 48331, USA ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms.

What the Service is

Creaky Hinge is a free toy for iPhone. On a foldable iPhone, an on-screen door follows the phone's hinge and creaks as you open and close the phone; on any other iPhone you swing the door by dragging it. The app works offline, has no account, shows no ads and has no in-app purchases. It needs iOS 27.1 or later.

Who can use the Service

Anyone may use the app. If you are under the age of majority where you live, ask a parent or guardian before you download it. The app collects no personal data from anyone.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the app beyond what applicable law permits.
• Copy or redistribute the app, or use it in a way that breaks the law or the App Store's terms.
• Disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorized access to this website.

Cost

The app is free to download and use. This version has no in-app purchase and no advertising. If that ever changes, these terms and the privacy policy will be updated before the change ships.

Intellectual property

The Creaky Hinge app, its artwork and the code that runs it are owned by TLM Software Design, Inc. The creak sounds are cut from CC0 (public-domain) recordings; the recordings themselves remain free for anyone to use. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app for personal, non-commercial entertainment.

Your phone and your hinge

The app reacts to how you move your phone. Use it as you would any app: do not force a hinge, and look where you are going. We are not responsible for damage to a device from how it is handled.

No warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or that it will respond to every foldable iPhone in the same way.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TLM SOFTWARE DESIGN, INC. WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $5.

Changes to the app or these terms

We may update the app or these terms at any time. Material changes to the terms will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Oakland County, Michigan.
