Support
Need help with CloudQuay? Most questions are answered below. If you are still stuck, email info@swtlm.com and we will get back to you within a couple of business days.
Connecting to a server
I cannot connect. Each problem has its own message: unknown host, no answer, timeout, rejected login, or access denied. Check the host (a name or an address, not a URL), the port, the protocol and your username and password. Switching the protocol changes the default port, so make sure it matches your server: usually 22 for SFTP and 21 for FTP and FTPS.
It connects, but the folder will not open on FTPS (Android).
Some FTPS servers require TLS session resumption (for example vsftpd with require_ssl_reuse, or FileZilla Server with its default settings). On Android the login works but the folder listing fails with a secure-connection error. SFTP, plain FTP and FTPS on iOS are not affected. If you control the server, you can relax that setting, or use SFTP.
iOS asked about the local network. The first time CloudQuay reaches a server on your home or office network, iOS asks for local-network permission. Allow it, or the app cannot reach servers on your LAN. You can change it later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
Warnings
The app stopped with a host-key warning. CloudQuay remembers each server’s SSH host key. If it changes, the app does not connect anyway. A changed key can mean the server was reinstalled or replaced, or that someone is intercepting the connection. Confirm the change with whoever runs the server before you continue.
My FTPS certificate was refused. FTPS certificates are verified. An untrusted, expired or wrong-name certificate is refused. Renew or fix the certificate on the server, or connect by the name the certificate was issued for.
The server shows an open lock on amber. That is plain FTP. Your password and files travel unencrypted. Use SFTP or FTPS when your server offers them.
Passwords and privacy
Where is my password kept? Only if you tick Save password, and only in the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore. Leave it unticked and the app asks each time. Server details never leave your device. See our Privacy Policy.
Can I upload, download or edit files? Not yet. This version is a read-only browser.
Free version, Pro and billing
What does the free version include? Every feature, with one saved server.
What does Pro cost? Pro is a single one-time purchase; the store shows its price in your local currency before you buy. There is no subscription.
How do I buy Pro? Tap See Pro in the free-limit message when you add a second server, or use the Pro card at the top of Settings. Billing goes through your App Store or Google Play account.
I bought Pro but it is not showing. Open Settings and tap Restore purchase. Use the same App Store or Google Play account you bought with.
Can I get a refund? Refunds are handled by Apple or Google. Use your store account’s purchase history to request one.
